When in Rome
July 14, 2009
Only in Rome for 24 hours and I am in love. I want to come back to stroll through Piazzas, look at fountains - pick my favorite, sit with a cup of cappuccino and then sneak off for a little gelato.
With all the strolling through city steets and the intense summer heat, I chose a 70’s chic daytime look. I have been using the top knot almost every other day here. It is easy and keeps me feeling cool.
Rome has become my “I will return” city!

I love Rome too, it is just amazing. It made me feel really special to be in the presence of such antiquities. I want to go back badly too. You look super cute. I was actually inspired by you to try to find some old shorts like the ones that look so great on you, but the ones I have tried on so far just make me look about 20 pounds over weight. I guess the search continues. I do have one cute pair already that I should wear more often.
Ciao!

How do you do your hair and make it look effortless and not perfect, but at the same time not overly messy? Let me know, it looks so chic and it would be great as I live in humidity central.

Angela - thanks for the compliments on the hair. This is a really easy look to pull off, basically pull all the hair on top of the head and twist it into a bun on top, then wind the rubber band around the bun. Pin stray hairs into the bun, and for a bit messy brush fingers around the hair at the temple and sides to let a few hair fall out.
