December 16, 2008

Holiday dresses were taken home, fur coats were bundled up in and hats were topped on heads.. it was another successful Trunk Show! For all the Society Girls who made their way in the traffic and rain - thank you! It was wonderful to meet so many of you.

Plans for more trunk shows are in the works as well as some online specials for the Society Girls across the country or over the ocean. Now off to re-stock and re-design.

Shifting Gears

December 5, 2008

If you live in the LA area, and have the evening opening this weekend, you might want to stop by SiteLA and check out one of my fellow resident’s incredible project.

SiteLA resident and automotive designer Khrystyne Zurian has been hard at work designing her eco-friendly concept car. On December 6, Khrystyne will host an event showcasing her work in the form of design renderings, a 3/4 scale model, hot rod and pin-up paintings, projections, graphic murals and more!

The night will also feature and open bar with Veev cocktails and music provided by DJ Franco.

Event is free and open to all ages.

Clothes Credits: Ruffles of Fun Dress - The Vintage Society, Fringe Jacket - Kate Moss for Top Shop, Stylists own jewelry, tights and boots.

She is the first to be selected twice, and she deserves this two time title because her style is truly ingenious. She defines her own look, she designs her own ridiculously-amazing jewelry, she has signature pieces that travel from one look to the next.

The best news is that she is now documenting her incredible sense of style on her own style blog The Glamorai. There she is giving us a taste of what it means to be truly glamorous. She is our Society Girl of the Week for the second time.. The Glamorous Girl

The Vintage Society Trunk Show

September 29, 2008

It was a huge success! Thanks to every Society Girl who came out on Saturday and shopped The Vintage Society closet. It was so much fun for me to see each dress find a fabulous home with a fabulous life to live.

My weekend was a flurry of activity - Friday was spent loading all the clothes into the space, hanging each item, tagging everything, and setting up shop. I loved creating a space that felt comfy, creative and inspiring.

Saturday started early as I headed up to the shop to meet with Elle Girl Japan (I love them!) to do a pre-opening interview and photo shoot. Then final touch-ups - dressing mannequins, selecting a playlist to fill the space with music, and double checking each item to make sure they were perfect.

Before to doors officially opened I already had a stream of girls trying on new treasures and spinning in front of mirrors. The day continued with an steady pace and before I knew it it was time to close the doors and turn off the lights.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of meeting each Society Girl and opening the closet doors to all who came.

And.. don’t worry I will be having another trunk show in December - stocking the racks with party dresses and fabulous coats to dress up your winter!
